A man is jailed, charged with aggravated assault after reportedly swinging a knife around Cochran County Sheriffs.

Cochran County Sheriffs responded to a domestic disturbance early Tuesday morning.

The caller reported a man armed with a knife, according to the sheriff's office. Once on scene, sheriffs made contact with Tyrone Harrison, 43.

Harrison was determined a threat to himself and family members and sheriffs attempted to arrest him. Sheriffs report Harrison resisted arrest and displayed a knife and swung it around. A taser was deployed but had no effect.

Harrison then barricaded himself inside a bedroom.

Sheriffs requested the Lubbock County Sheriff's Office negotiator and tactical team for assistance. After nearly seven hours of negotiation with no success, the tactical team was able to make entry into the bedroom and take Harrison into custody without injury.

He was taken to the hospital for evaluation. Harrison's charged with aggravated assault/public servant and resisting arrest.
