Man arrested following SWAT stand-off in central Lubbock

Posted: Updated:

A man who, police say, threatened to kill a woman and five children was arrested following a SWAT stand-off in central Lubbock early Monday morning.

Investigators say 911 received a call late Sunday night reporting Henry Palomo III was holding a woman and five juveniles in their home, threatening to shoot and kill them.

LPD reports SWAT was then dispatched. The team used the loudspeaker on the Ballistic Engineered Armored Response Vehicle, or BEAR, to talk to Palomo. He eventually came out and followed officers' instructions.

Police searched the home for the gun Palomo had, determined to be stolen from a vehicle burglary in 2015.

Palomo was booked on charges of aggravated assault, gun theft, unlawful restraint and for three misdemeanor warrants.
