Many West Texans are pulling for the Chiefs in the Super Bowl because of Patrick Mahomes and his time at Texas Tech. A lot of fans have started following Kansas City in the past few years.
But there are also some long-time Chiefs. This includes Chuck Heinz on Double T 97.3.
The "Morning Drive" host didn't recently hop on the bandwagon. He's originally from Kansas City and has been a die-hard fan of the team for more than 50 years. This includes the team's last Super Bowl appearance 50 years ago.
"Just the fact that they're my first team," Heinz said. "I have a lot of teams that I care about and love, but I cherish the Chiefs. I always know what the score is for the Chiefs."
He predicts Kansas City will win 28-18 Sunday. And he plans to avoid all Super Bowl parties and gatherings. He'll watch the game at home with his wife.
