LUBBOCK, Texas -

Winter Weather Advisory until noon for Gaines, TX and Lea, NM counties. Accumulation of around an inch or two of snow possible through this morning. This activity is clearing from north to south, current radar below:
South Plains Radar

TODAY: Drier air filtering in and cloud cover will diminish with more sunshine on the way. Still chilly with the high near 52. We will be dealing with a breezy northerly wind 10-20mph, this will make it feel colder.

TONIGHT: Wind speeds drop to 5-12mph from the west-northwest. Clear and cold with the low near 27.

WEEKEND: Ridge of high pressure moves overhead with temperatures quickly climbing to the 70s by Sunday. If you are planning some outdoor activities for Super Bowl Sunday it will become breezy.

NEXT WEEK: A strong upper level low will push a cold front through the area late Monday. This will drop the highs to the 40s through Wednesday. Very strong wind for Monday and Tuesday, and still breezy through Thursday. Models are hinting some moisture moving in our southern counties as the front pushes south with possible snow Wednesday. This is something we will be watching over the next few days for clarification.

Have a great weekend! Watch the Super Bowl on FOX34! Robert with the latest forecast tonight on the News at Nine.
