LUBBOCK, Texas -

29-year-old Peyton Wilson was found guilty by a Lubbock jury of aggravated assault Thursday.

Wilson's trial began Monday, with testimony Tuesday. He was originally charged with aggravated assault on a peace officer.

Wilson was accused of pointing the weapon at Sgt. Chad Wurm back in November 2016. He was indicted that same month on a drug charge.

A SWAT team executed a search warrant at his home as part of a fentanyl investigation. When Wilson reportedly confronted the team, Sgt. Wurm fired at Wilson striking him once.

Wilson faces two to 20 years in prison. He will be sentenced at a later date.
