28 dogs rescued from 'hoarding situation' in Southeast Lubbock home

Posted: Updated:
LUBBOCK, Texas -

Lubbock police were called to a Southeast Lubbock home Tuesday in response to a hoarding situation with more than 20 dogs on the property.

The Lubbock Animal Shelter received 28 dogs from the hoarding case. Animal Services Director Steven Greene says two dogs died from the poor conditions.

The shelter is looking for fosters or rescue groups to house any of the 26 dogs recovered from the home.

Greene says the dogs range in age and breed.

Out of hand breeding is presumed to be the cause of the hoarding situation.
