LUBBOCK -

For the second time this season, the Red Raider basketball team is out of the AP Top 25. This follows a 65-54 loss to TCU in Fort Worth and a two-point overtime loss to Kentucky at the USA last week.

Tech is now 12-7 on the year, 3-3 in Big 12 play. Big teams in the Top 25 include:

1. Baylor
3. Kansas
12. West Virginia

Tech hosts West Virginia 7 p.m. Wednesday then will travel to Lawrence to face Kansas 3 p.m. Saturday.

AP - Baylor is No. 1 for a second straight week in an AP Top 25 men's college basketball poll that had no major changes at the top. The Bears stayed well ahead of No. 2 Gonzaga, part of an unchanged top seven for the first time this season. Kansas was third, followed by San Diego State and Florida State to round out the top five. No. 22 LSU, No. 23 Wichita State and No. 24 Penn State were the week's new additions. Texas Tech, Memphis and Arizona fell out of the rankings.
