LUBBOCK, Texas -

A man has been arrested on a charge of arson for a fire that destroyed on a home on 25th Street near University Thursday.

Responding firefighters found flames reaching from the first floor up to the second. Lubbock Fire Rescue went into a defensive operation for the next few hours. No one was hurt.

In an update Thursday evening, Lubbock Fire Rescue reports two adults were home when the fire started. Investigators say one person started the fire then woke up the second person.

Fire and water damage left the home structurally unstable.
