LUBBOCK, Texas -

H-E-B already making its presence felt by donating eyeglasses to the Lubbock Impact building to distribute to local non-profits.

"We have been the beneficiaries of some sweet things from H-E-B recently; some food, some funding, we're excited about having them in our community, and we just love the fact that they want to support us in all different ways, especially hunger relief," Rory Thomas, with Lubbock Impact, said.

More than 400 readers and 1,500 frames are the main stock, with sunglasses, fit-overs, goggles, and accessories filling in the gaps.

H-E-B announced plans to expand to Lubbock in August of last year. Groundbreaking for the store on the corner of 114th and Quaker Ave. was in November.
