Tech Hoops up to No. 18 in AP Top 25 after two Big 12 wins

LUBBOCK, Texas -

 

Following a week of success, Texas Tech Basketball was bumped up five spots in the latest AP Top 25 poll to No. 18.

The Red Raiders had a mid-week victory at Kansas State, then followed it up with a 20-point win at home against Iowa State.

Kyler Edwards notched a career-high 24 points at Kansas State and 22 points against ISU which earned the sophomore Big 12 Player of the Week honors. He was 8-10 from beyond the arc.

The Baylor Bears are the new number one team in the country. After trailing to Oklahoma State in the first half, BU came back to extend its win-streak to 14 games.

Kansas checked in at No. 3 and West Virginia moved down to No. 14 after a loss to Kansas State.

Texas Tech takes on TCU, Wednesday in Fort Worth. The Red Raider return home on Saturday for the highly anticipated Big 12/SEC Challenge when No. 15 Kentucky comes to Lubbock.
