Texas Tech Basketball drops to No. 23 after two losses

Following its first two conference losses, the Red Raiders dropped to 23rd in the latest AP Top 25 poll.

Texas Tech suffered its first Big 12 loss to Baylor in a 57-52 contest. The Bears were ranked fourth at the time. They moved up to No. 2 after a win over No. 3 Kansas at Allen Fieldhouse. The Jayhawks were bumped down to No. 6.

Following TTU's loss, it had its first road test at No. 17 West Virginia. The Red Raiders could not find much offense against the Mountaineer's sound defense. Texas Tech shot 28% from the field and struggled to get to the free throw line. WVU defeated TTU 66-54.

With the win, the Mountaineers moved up five spots to No. 12.

Texas Tech is back on the road to take on Kansas State, Tuesday at 7 PM. The two teams were co-champions of the Big 12 during the 2018-19 season. The Red Raiders return home Saturday when they host Iowa State at 3 PM.
