Isolated showers are expected this evening across the area, and as the temperature drops, some of these drops will turn into snowflakes. The chance for snow will be greatest north into the panhandle. A few flakes in Lubbock aren't impossible, but Saturday's high is 51°, so even if we see something it won't last very long. It will be windy tonight however. With the cold air in place, some blowing snow is possible with temperatures feeling like they are in the single digits.
Take the numbers above with a grain of salt. This is just meant to demonstrate that a light dusting is possible. Some may see more than others, but this doesn't mean that "Jayton" will see almost 4 inches necessarily.
TONIGHT: Isolated showers, some turning into snow showers, low of 23°, N wind 20-30mph.
SATURDAY: Sunny, high of 51°, SW wind 10-15mph.
Sunny skies are expected through the weekend. Temperatures will climb near the 70s by midweek, then a drop in temperatures are expected by Thursday.
