The former office manager at Spike Dykes Ford in Lamesa confessed to her part in the scheme to defraud Ford Motor Credit.Court records show Mistry Canady... was part of the floor plan financing fraud that was rampant across the auto group. That's where dealerships would falsely give Ford Credit car information, so the auto group would get multiple payments for the same car. Agents would buy a car, request money to cover the purchase, then move the car to another dealership, and request money to cover the purchase again. The FBI calculates that's about $27M in fraudulent earnings. Canady has accepted a plea deal for conspiracy to commit wire fraud.
