Police say Rowe took his girlfriend's daughter to work with him, put the baby in a backpack and left her in his car. After a few hours, on his lunch break, Rowe told police he saw that the baby had gotten out the bag, so he said he crammed her back in, zipped it, and put the bag in the trunk of his car. When his shift was over, Rowe said he found the girl wasn't breathing. Investigators say Marion was likely in the bag for at least five hours. Rowe is held on $2M bond, and if convicted, faces the death penalty, or life in prison without parole.
Marion's biological father, Emilio Montoya, says CPS has been called several times leading up to Marion's death, blaming both the girl's mother and her new boyfriend.
Rowe's rap sheet sheet includes theft, domestic assault, and abandoning or endangering a child with the intent to return.

A 12th guilty plea in the Reagor-Dykes criminal cases
The former office manager at Spike Dykes Ford in Lamesa confessed to her part in the scheme to defraud Ford Motor Credit.Court records show Mistry Canady... was part of the floor plan financing fraud that was rampant across the auto group. That's where dealerships would falsely give Ford Credit car information, so the auto group would get multiple payments for the same car. Agents would buy a car, request money to cover the purchase, then move the car to another dealership, and request money to cover the purchase again. The FBI calculates that's about $27M in fraudulent earnings. Canady has accepted a plea deal for conspiracy to commit wire fraud. She faces up to five years in prison, a $250,000 fine and up to $27M in restitution to Ford Credit.
