(4)Baylor won a defensive battle with (22)Texas Tech in Lubbock Tuesday night, 57-52. 

Tech struggled from the free throw line, going 5/12. The Red Raiders shot 37% from the field, 29% from long range.Meanwhile, Tech also held Baylor to 43% shooting, 31% from three.

Tech guard Kyler Edwards, who had 10 points, two rebounds, two steals and four blocks, said rebounding was a focus in practice all week and the game plan. "We just didn't execute it, as players," Edwards said.

Baylor out-rebounded Tech 44-25.

Coach Beard said Baylor's Mark Vital is well-known as a beast on the boards, saying he's probably been aggressive grabbing rebounds since he was in grade school. "It's in his DNA."

 Beard said the Bears did exactly what they intended to win the game.

"There's no secrets in this league," Beard said. "We have an identity. And Baylor has an identity, and their identity is rebounding. Today they beat us at their own game. They told us what they were going to do and they did it."

Jahmi'us Ramsey paced the Red Raiders, with 20 points, five rebounds and three assists. Davion Mitchell led the Bears in scoring with 14 points and four rebounds.
