Cold New Year's Eve, warmer New Year's Day - FOX34 Lubbock

Cold New Year's Eve, warmer New Year's Day

Posted: Updated:

We may actually break the 50s today, albeit briefly with a high of 50° expected this afternoon. Temperatures at midnight will be near 31° in Lubbock, under partly cloudy skies. A light wind will make it feel like the mid 20s.

TODAY: High of 50°, SSW wind 5-10mph, mostly sunny.

MIDNIGHT: Partly cloudy, 31°, SSW 5-10mph.

TONIGHT: Low of 28°, partly cloudy, S wind 5-10mph.

Temperatures will approach the 60s on New Year's Day, although I don't think we'll reach it in Lubbock. A weak front will drop temperatures slightly again, until we see the 60° return on Sunday.
