Cold night ahead, slightly warmer New Year's Day

It was a bit colder this morning as temperatures dropped to 30° in Lubbock. We'll be even colder tonight with temperatures in the low 20s. Areas near Parmer and Castro Counties may even reach the low teens. Clear skies expected tonight and for the next couple days.

The first week of the decade is looking a little warmer than first anticipated, as temperatures will climb back into the 50s and lows closer to, but still below freezing. Things look dry overall, with a few clouds midweek.
