Gas prices up two cents in Lubbock

LUBBOCK, Texas -

The average gas price in Lubbock climbed two pennies since one week ago. The current average is $2.19 per gallon of regular unleaded fuel. 

That average is three cents less than the average cost one month ago, but is a $0.33 increase from this time last year.

The statewide gas price average in Texas is $2.22 for a gallon of regular unleaded fuel, according to the AAA Texas Weekend Gas Watch. That price is one cent less than as on this day last week and is 25 cents more per gallon compared to this day last year. Of the major metropolitan areas surveyed in Texas, drivers in Odessa are paying the most on average at $2.45 while drivers in Tyler are paying the least at $2.14 per gallon. The national average price for a gallon of regular unleaded is $2.55, which is the same when compared to this day last week and 24 cents more than the price per gallon at this same time last year.
