Merry Christmas! We've got pretty quiet weather around the region next few days. Today it's been a slow increase in clouds.
TONIGHT: A few sprinkles are possible. It's more likely we'll just have more clouds. Low near 40. Wind SW 7-15mph.
CHRISTMAS DAY: Clouds early, more sun for the afternoon. High near 64. Breezy, wind W 12-24mph.
BETTER RAIN CHANCE: The next upper-level storm system approaching from the west will bring more lift to the region to help showers develop. There's a slight chance for rain Thursday night, then rain is likely on Friday. Amounts will probably be fairly light. The rain chance will trend lower Saturday.
It'll also get a little bit cooler late this week, before turning colder by the weekend. Before the showers end there could be some snow mixed in, mainly to the NW of Lubbock, Saturday morning. But most, if not all, of the precipitation should be rain.
Have a great rest of your day and a great Christmas Day. Look for the next forecast update here Christmas afternoon.
