Merry Christmas Eve! It will be another warm afternoon with a partly sunny sky. High near 70 with a light southwest/south wind 5-15mph.
TONIGHT: Cloud cover will increase then clear before the early morning hours. Low will be a little milder in the 30s and low 40s, but the wind will stay a light breeze 10-15mph.
CHRISTMAS: Conditions in our area will be nice and mostly sunny. Temperatures will drop a few degrees with the high near 64, and the wind will be breezy from the west southwest 12-22mph.
RAIN CHANCES: Late Thursday through Saturday our area will have a good chance for widespread rain. The next storms system will dig across the southwestern US, drawing in moisture back to the South Plains. With this moisture and the lift from this system rain chances will increase in the early morning hours of Friday. Models are bringing anywhere from a few tenths of an inch to possibly a third of an inch in our area. With temperatures staying above freezing precipitation will stay liquid. Wind speeds also increase Friday and Saturday with temperatures dropping to the 40s and 50s through the weekend.
