THIS AFTERNOON: It's warmed up nicely, with upper 60s to lower 70s across the South Plains. We've had a steady stream of high clouds moving in from the Pacific. Travel weather is good all around the region.
TONIGHT: Partly cloudy, low near 33. Wind SSW 5-12mph.
CHRISTMAS EVE: High near 68, partly cloudy. Wind SW/S 5-15mph. Clouds will increase late in the day into Christmas Eve night, possibly even with a few sprinkles.
CHRISTMAS DAY: Lower 40s in the morning, climbing to around 63 in the afternoon. Clouds early will give way to more sun late. Breezy, SW/W wind 12-22mph.
LOOKING AHEAD: It'll trend cooler late this week and colder early next week. The next upper-level storm system will likely bring some rain Friday. There is a slight chance for rain Thursday night. The rain chance will slowly diminish Saturday.
While it should mainly be rain, there could be some snow mixed in to the north and northwest of Lubbock early Saturday morning.
While it will trend colder Saturday through Monday, we're probably only talking about upper 40s, which is just a few degrees below the seasonal average.
Have a great rest of your day. Bobby will have an update to the forecast early tomorrow. Hope you have a very Merry Christmas.
