Warmer this weekend, mild weather for Christmas

Posted: Updated:

The weather pattern will remain fairly tranquil across West Texas next few days, with good travel conditions leading up to Christmas.

SATURDAY: A cold start near 23, climbing to 59 in the afternoon. Sunny with light wind, NW/W 5-10mph.

SUNDAY: Warmer, bouncing back to the mid 60s with a lot of sunshine and a steady SW wind 10-15mph.

NEXT WEEK: The pattern will stay pretty quiet. An approaching storm system will kick the wind up some on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. At this point it's looking less likely any showers will develop. And the past few days it only looked like a slim chance. We can't rule out a few sprinkles, but it should mainly be more clouds.

It doesn't cool much through mid-week. It'll trend cooler into next weekend, though it doesn't look much colder. Another storm system may bring some showers late next week into next weekend. But at this point the precip chance is also pretty low.

Overall, mild weather is in store for Christmas week.

Have a great weekend. Bobby will have a full update to the forecast posted here Saturday afternoon.
