Mighty Wash steps in to help Red Kettle Campaign

Posted: Updated:
LUBBOCK, Texas -

With The Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign lagging significantly behind, Mighty Wash stepped in Saturday to assist.

Captain Kettle was on-site collecting funds to fill his kettle while drivers got their cars washed. The Salvation Army Red Kettle Express truck was also there, giving out free hot chocolate and bottled water.

"Since we just tried it out as a first time last year, it wasn't just because we wanted to help not only that part of our community, but also to invite others to try and help the community," Montea Barber, Mighty Wash Manager, said.

Barber said he challenges other business in the Hub City to help the Salvation Army reach its $250,000 goal.

You'll have another chance to contribute. Mighty Wash will host another car wash benefit Saturday, Dec. 21, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
