Texas Tech quarterback Jett Duffey has entered the NCAA transfer portal, a Texas Tech Athletics official has confirmed.

The NCAA details the transfer portal here, which is an electronic database that allows players to declare to athletics programs nationwide they are interested in transferring. It does not necessarily mean the player is leaving; in most cases the player does go forward with moving to another school.

The junior led the Red Raiders much of this season following Alan Bowman's injury. Entering the season, he was behind Bowman and competed with QB Maverick McIvor for the backup job on the depth chart before McIvor broke his foot. He took over the starting job Week 4 against Oklahoma and threw for 2,840 yards, completing 65.1% of his passes with 18 TDs and 5 INTs this year. He also rushed 72 times for 212 yards.

Since Duffey will graduate this weekend, he will have immediate eligibility next season.
