Meteorologist Bobby Johnston said today is mostly sunny with a high near 54 degrees. There is a south/southwest wind of 10-20mph. A passing disturbance will make it cloudy tonight into Thursday morning, but we'll probably miss any showers here.
Texas Tech upsets #1 Louisville, 70-57
Texas Tech basketball made program history taking down the number one ranked team in the country for the first time. They did it on the biggest stage, Madison Square Garden on national television, and without probably their best player, freshman star Jahmi'us Ramsey, who's out with an injury. Auto theft spikes during holidays
A new report shows about 23,000 cars were stolen during the holidays last year. The biggest days to watch out for are Christmas and New Years with a combined total of nearly 8,000 vehicles stolen. For tips to keep your car safe: click here.
Tech Police increase patrols on campus
Police are patrolling Tech's campus after two attacks reported in the span of just a couple days. One day after a student was groped outside Coleman Hall, another woman reported an attempted sexual assault in the Wall Gates parking lot. Police are urging people to be careful and recommend using the blue light system if in immediate danger. For the full story: click here.
Wreaths across America ceremony Saturday
The Civil Air Patrol will honor more than 700 veterans buried in Lubbock this weekend. Its "wreaths across America" effort commemorates their service and sacrifices during the holidays. Two stolen dogs returned to Pets Plus
Two stolen English Bulldog puppies returned to Pets Plus. The pet store reported the pricey puppies stolen last week after a break in. Owners said one of the pups was returned Thursday and the other brought back yesterday. Police haven't said whether the people who returned the dogs were the thieves or if the thieves have been caught. For the full story: click here.
Look Around Lubbock: Ransom Canyon Christmas Tour of Homes
The Ransom Canyon Christmas Tour of Homes is tomorrow from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The proceeds benefit the chapel and chapel grounds. Meredith Aldis will be with some of the home owners on the tour and members of the chapel with event details throughout the morning.
