Posted: Updated:
LUBBOCK, Texas -

The Civil Air Patrol will honor more than 700 veterans buried in Lubbock this weekend.

Wreaths Across America efforts commemorate their service and sacrifices during the holidays. For 27 years, this effort has honored Veterans at 1,400 hundred cemeteries, including Arlington National Cemetery.

Lee Reese is one of the veterans. A guest on Lubbock News Now, he said it's a chance to honor his military family.

"You've got all branches together, okay? We're all brothers and sisters cause we've served," Navy Veteran and Wreaths Across America volunteer Lee Reese said. "Doesn't matter which branch, we'll always, we'll harass each other, but if something serious we're right there to assist."

The Civil Air Patrol will host its Wreaths Across America event Saturday, Dec. 14 and the Lubbock Memorial Cemetery. Wreaths will be laid at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. nationwide.
