Texas Tech and Lubbock Police have increased patrol presence around the Tech campus. Two days after a female student was sexually assaulted on-campus, police report another woman says a man tried to sexually assault her. A Tech spokesman said it's not clear if the two cases are related.

According to Tech PD, the woman was approached by a man in the Wall Gates parking lot at 6:47 p.m. Monday. He asked for directions then tried to assault her. She was able to fend him off and get away.

Police say the man is Hispanic, about 6' tall, small build, roughly 140 lbs. He has dark hair, dark eyes and facial hair with long sideburns. He was wearing a baseball cap, black jeans, dark clothing and possibly a hoodie.

Saturday night a student was sexually assaulted on the west side of Coleman Hall. The victim told police she was approached by a man on the south side of the residence hall, then was assaulted on the west side.

Following Saturday's attack, police said the man is believed to be between 19 and 22 years old, with long sideburns and a thin mustache. He's believed to be about 6' tall with a thin build. Police released the surveillance photo above of the man.

If you know anything about either attack, call Texas Tech PD at 806.743.2000 or CrimeLine at 806.741.1000.
