TURNING COLDER: It's been a cloudy and cooler day, with 50s around the South Plains this afternoon. Farther north in the Panhandle it's been in the 30s and 40s. That front will move across the area tonight, making it colder.
There have also been some light showers to the southwest and south of Lubbock. A few hundredths of an inch of rain has fallen at Gail and Fluvanna, with 0.16" through 4 p.m. at Hobbs. Here is FOX34 VIPIR:
Some more showers are expected tonight along Highway 180 from Hobbs to Snyder. Farther north toward Lubbock there is just a slight chance for some rain. With it turning colder, a few snow flakes could mix in as well. But again, most of the showers should stay farther south.
Low tonight near 28, cloudy, wind NE 5-15mph.
TOMORROW: Clouds in the morning giving way to a sunny afternoon. High near 48, wind SSW 5-12mph.
NEXT FEW DAYS: It'll stay cool this week, with 50s Wednesday and Thursday. It should warm back into the 60s Friday and Saturday.
An approaching storm system should at least increase the clouds and bring a colder day next Monday. No promising sign of showers just yet for our area over the next week.
Have a great rest of your day. Bobby will have a full update to the forecast here early tomorrow.
