Emergency crews respond after vehicle drives into canyon

SLATON, Texas -
Emergency crews responded to a crash near Golf Course Road, north of Slaton, Monday afternoon.
Deputies with the Lubbock County Sheriff's Office found a single vehicle had gone off the Horseshoe Bend Canyon. The driver was able to climb out of the canyon safely and taken to the hospital. The extent of the driver's injuries is not known at this time. No reports on the cause of the crash.
Deputies are asking motorists to avoid that area as crews work to repair the guardrail.
