UPDATE: 1 injured in shooting near 36th and University

LUBBOCK, Texas -

One person is injured after a shooting Wednesday morning near 36th and University Ave.

Police say it happened during an apparent home invasion. The victim told police when he came home, he found the suspect in his house. He chased the person outside of the house into the backyard where he confronted them.

Police report the two were arguing over the gun when it went off, striking the victim in the leg. 

The suspect is still at large. If you have any information on the cause of the shooting or the identity of the shooter please call crime line at 741-1000, or contact Lubbock Police.
