Very windy and cool

Meteorologist Bobby Johnston said today will be very windy with a high temperature near 59 degrees. Wind out of the west is averaging 25-45mph with gusts of 50-60mph. The strongest wind is expected from around noon to 4 p.m. 

Chamber to promote small businesses

The Chamber of Commerce is celebrating small businesses' impact with a promotion on Saturday. The Chamber hopes the promotion will expand small businesses' resources and leaders said supporting these businesses makes the city stronger. Along with Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday, the city will also observe Giving Tuesday next week in hopes you'll donate to charitable organizations in our area. Holiday travelers brace for severe weather

Snow, rain and high winds is expected to impact roughly two-thirds of the country as Thanksgiving approaches. This year's weather threat is sending shoppers to supermarkets a few days earlier than usual. Weather is already stranding passengers at airports, forcing hundreds of flight cancellations and delays. With more than 49 million people hitting the road, travel experts said everyone should have an emergency kit containing a shovel, flashlights, phone charger, and extra food and water. 

Animal cruelty now a federal crime

President Trump signed the "Pact Act" preventing animal cruelty and torture. Animal rights activists were there with him in the oval office. The President called it a "very important signing." He said this bill would help people be "more responsible and humane stewards of our planet."

Texas Tech and Midland College pen deal

The Texas Tech and Midland College academic deal will establish a Texas Tech regional site on the Midland campus. That'll make it easier for Midland College students to take Texas Tech's courses and transfer to the university. This "two plus two" program will allow Midland students to get their basic courses out of the way before transferring here and finishing their Bachelor's degrees. For the full story: click here.

Impeachment report may be released next week

After the public and private impeachment hearings, the House Intelligence Committee is compiling its report. It will say whether President Trump engaged in bribery by withholding that aid to Ukraine, to force an announcement of an investigation into the Bidens. The Committee's report on its impeachment investigation may come out as soon as next week.
