The Lubbock Cooper Pirates defeat the El Paso Burges Mustangs in the area round of the playoffs 49-7.

The Pirates would once again gain control of the game early on.

Pirate running back Nehemiah Martinez had himself a game as he would find the end zone four times including an interception he returned for a touchdown on the first defensive position of the game.

Bryson Stevens would also add a pick six of his own.

The Pirate would also have a kickoff return by Robert Mott, which would total three touchdowns scored by the Pirates without having the offensive unit on the field.

Cooper's defense would also have a good game. The defense would force four turnovers, while also allowing the Mustangs to find the end zone once mid-way through the first quarter.

The Pirates improves to 11-1 on the season. The El Paso Burges Mustangs finish their season with a 9-3 record.

The Pirates will match up against the Canyon Randall Raiders who defeated Canutillo today. The Pirates will meet the Raiders next Friday at West Texas A&M with kickoff set for 4.
