RAINY DAY: It wasn't heavy rain, but Lubbock and several parts of the South Plains picked up some rain today. With the thunderstorms this morning, it was briefly heavy. Now most of the rain has moved out to the east, with just a few lingering showers late this afternoon. A couple of isolated showers remain possible next few hours, then it'll clear out.
TONIGHT: Mostly clear, low near 43. Wind W/N 5-12mph. Clouds may already increase by sunrise.
TOMORROW: We'll wait for the next upper-level disturbance to arrive from the west. A cold front will slide across the area in the morning. It may help produce a few showers. There is a slight chance for rain in the morning/mid-day. High temp in the upper 50s, wind NE/E 5-15mph.
Then, the upper-level disturbance will arrive late in the day. Rain is likely Thursday evening through Friday morning. There might even be a few thunderstorms. As colder air moves in, the Panhandle may see some snow mix in; but around Lubbock it looks like this will all be rain.
LOOKING AHEAD: The rain should end early Friday, with it gradually clearing through the day. It'll be a colder day, high near 50. Playoff football games will be in the 40s, possibly dropping to the upper 30s.
We'll see more sunshine this weekend. The Tech game will kick in the 50s and drop into the 40s late.
Another storm system will approach by the middle of next week. It may bring some showers to the region, but it's too far away for any accuracy. We'll definitely keep an eye on it for Thanksgiving travel.
Have a great rest of your day. Bobby will have a complete update to the forecast here early tomorrow.
