The Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Lubbock Area Chapter will honor individuals and organizations at the 24th Annual National Philanthropy Day Luncheon November 21 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Overton Hotel and Conference Center.
2019 recipients include:
Outstanding Philanthropist – Ada Rummel
Outstanding Corporation – Wentz Orthodontics
Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser – Terry and Kelly Crofoot
Outstanding Volunteer or Civic Organization – Lubbock Area United Way
Outstanding Fundraising Professional – Stacy Keith, CFRE
“National Philanthropy Day is the day we recognize and pay tribute to the contributions that philanthropy and generous givers make to Lubbock, the South Plains, and our nation as a whole,” Lacee Hoelting, President of the Lubbock Area Chapter said. “Lubbock is an incredibly giving community, and this year’s honorees represent just a few of those great people and organizations.
Organizations that participate in AFP in the Lubbock Area have generated more than $212 million that funds more than $206 million in services provided in the West Texas area. The awards luncheon is part of National Philanthropy Day, celebrated by over 130 AFP chapters across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
In addition to the honorees listed above, local AFP members have selected individuals to receive a Spirit of Philanthropy Awards. These honorees have gone above and beyond in their support for local non-profits.
Honored guests include Lubbock Mayor Dan Pope and the Lubbock City Council.
