Woman indicted for reckless driving that led to a man's death

LUBBOCK, Texas -

A woman ha been indicted accused of reckless driving that led to a man's death. 

Latasha Machado, 41, is charged with criminally negligent homicide. Police report Machado rear-ended another car back in August on the I-27 Frontage Rd. near 34th. 

Investigators report Machado was going 66 mph when she crashed. Phillip Maples, 43, was hospitalized after the crash. He died from his injures several weeks later.

She told investigators she had been drinking, but records indicate she didn't show signs of being intoxicated at the time of the crash. 

Prosecutors say her speeding through a red light led to Maple's death. She's held on a $40,000 bond.
