Olton's First United Methodist Church to host chili and stew lunch

OLTON, Texas -

From First United Methodist Church: 

Olton's First United Methodist Church will serve a chili and stew lunch on Saturday, Nov. 23. 

The meal will be served between 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. in the church's fellowship hall at 312 Ave. D in Olton. The meal will include chili or stew, relishes, cornbread or crackers, homemade pie and tea or coffee. Take-outs will be available. 

Children under two eat free and the cost for children two to 10 is $3. Adult cost is $7. 

In addition to the lunch, the church will holds its Country Store between 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Store items will include handmade crafts, baked and canned goods and frozen casseroles. 

Ladies of the church are taking donations towards owing a handmade "Comfy Quilt" in a "Sunshine" pattern. It was made by Teresa Wilks Light and donated to the Methodist women. Handwork was done by her mother, Jane Wilks. The quilt is baked in plush valour. 

Quilt tickets are $2.50 each of 5 for $10. People need not be present to win the quilt. The drawing will be at 1 p.m. on Nov. 23.
