It was a cool afternoon yesterday with the high at 62 in Lubbock, that is a degree below the average.
TODAY: A weak front will be in the area changing the wind to the north and may pick up to 10-15mph, but will have no significance on temperatures. Sunny and warmer with the high near 71.
TONIGHT: Clear sky with the low near 39.
TUESDAY: High near 73, mostly sunny with high clouds moving in from the southwest. A light breeze from the southwest 10-18mph.
REST OF WEEK: 2 systems will change our forecast with increasing rain chances and colder temperatures. A Pacific system will push into the Southwestern US and open up across our area. This will bring a chance for light showers and a few storms Wednesday. Less than a half of an inch of precipitation likely with this first round. Then the second system drops a cold front lifting up the remaining moisture late Thursday into Friday. Again, not much in precipitation is expected and temperatures look to stay warm enough for liquid precipitation... not frozen. Highs drop to the 40s Friday, with lows near freezing.
WEEKEND: All this clears out Friday with more sunshine and a gradual warm up with highs in the 60s Sunday.
Have a great start to the work week! Matt with the next updated forecast tonight on the News at Nine.
