THIS AFTERNOON: It's in the 60s around most of our area with lots of sun. In fact, it's sunny across most of the south central United States.
It will be chilly for the playoff football games around the region tonight, down to the mid 40s on the South Plains by 10 p.m.
SATURDAY: Warmer and, at times, breezy. High near 68 in Lubbock. High clouds will increase late in the day. Wind SW 10-18mph.
Kickoff for the Texas Tech game will be in the mid 50s, climbing to the mid to upper 60s by the end of the game.
SUNDAY: A cold front will move across the area early in the morning, bringing a north wind 20-25mph. The wind will diminish through the day. Still mostly sunny, high near 59.
NEXT WEEK: Warmer days will start the week, near 70 Monday through Wednesday. Then we expect an upper-level storm system to move in from the southwest. It may produce some showers Wednesday and again Friday. It's not a great chance at this point, but enough to mention in the seven-day forecast.
Have a great weekend and Guns Up! for Tech. Robert will have an updated forecast here by Saturday evening.
