Lubbock holds ceremony for new Police Chief

LUBBOCK, Texas -

 

 

The city of Lubbock held a swearing-in ceremony for new police chief Floyd Mitchell in the City Council Chambers today.

Chief Mitchell has nearly 30 years of law enforcement experience. He was previously the chief of police in Temple, and is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

He earned both a Masters and Bachelors of Business Administration from Baker University. Chief Mitchell is a Master Certified Peace Officer in Texas and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy.

Mitchell stepped into his new position as police chief at the beginning of the week.
