LUBBOCK, Texas -

The Texas Tech University System Board of Regents announced that a search committee has been formed to select the next president of TTU's Health Sciences Center.

TTUHSC provost and chief academic officer Lori Rice-Spearman was named interim president following former president Tedd Mitchell's announcement that he would be transitioning into Chancellor of the TTU System.

BOR chairman, Christopher Huckabee says that Regent Mark Griffin will act as chairman of the search committee

“Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center is in a prime position to attract a top candidate as our next president,” Huckabee said. “This is a great job with a team of outstanding people. Right now is the perfect time for a new leader to come in and expand upon what has been established and continue the positive momentum we have experienced during the past decade.
