LUBBOCK, Texas -

Covenant Health celebrates its service members not just on Veteran's Day, but everyday.

Its Operation Military Appreciation Committee is dedicated to supporting other veterans, whether they're a patient or employee.

Wife of fallen Army Specialist Israel Garza displayed photos and mementos throughout his military career. Lupita Garza's reminded of the sacrifices made by veterans each day. Her husband was killed overseas in 2004.

"Everything that they do everyday is for us, it's for our freedom," she said.

Lupita is a caregiver at Covenant Health and a part of OMAC. She said the group shows immense support not only to her, but her sons Micheal and Israel.

"At first I was very angry after my husband passed away, but through the years I've seen the brotherhood of all military," she said. "They just have that great love for each other."

Connie Gonzales is a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army. She said since starting the committee, it's helped further her passion for serving.

"Once you start talking about your career and all that you've got to do for our country. it just makes you connect with people. I just love it," she said. "I love serving others and it's just another way to sever when you can connect and understand what they went through."

That connection is something Garza said she will always cherish.
