SHALLOWATER, Texas -

A Shallowater man was arrested and charged with sending obscene communications to a minor.

Lubbock County Sheriffs, along with the FBI, arrested Darren Davis, 47, after executing a federal search warrant Wednesday.

Court records show Davis tried convincing a 14-year-old girl to perform sexual acts on another child

The girl's mother got a hold of her phone and saw the conversation between her daughter and Davis. She immediately took screen shots of the conversation and showed them to her daughter's high school administrations office. The school notified the Crosby County Sheriff's Office; FBI Special Agent Kieth Quigley interviewed the child.

During her interview, she admitted to speaking to Davis directly. She told the officer that during her conversation, Davis would discuss sex-related topics with her and encourage her to have sex. In addition, she would often notice if Davis was trying to contact her through his son's Snapchat.

Agent Quigley issued a warrant for Davis's arrest,  under violation of Title 47 U.S.C.

He's booked in the Lubbock County Detention Center without bond.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
