Covenant Children's smallest patients got to celebrate this Halloween.
In the neonatal intensive care unit where some preemies and micro-preemies stay, a group of nurses took it upon themselves to hand-make costumes.
NICU nurse Jennifer Ware said celebrating Halloween can ease the stress that comes with being a NICU parent, even if just for a moment.
"Kind of just wanted to add something kind of normal," Ware said. "Something that they can take a picture of a be proud of and something that they can remember later on. The good parts."
The tradition started last year and nurses plan to always have a theme. This year's theme was fruit.
