LUBBOCK, Texas -

Lubbock's Salvation Army Disaster Alert Response Team (DART) will be out Wednesday night into Thursday morning offering help to anyone living out in the cold.

With a forecast low near 18, the team will have its new specialized truck to distribute food, warm drinks, blankets, hygiene kits and cold weather ware to people who are exposed to the elements.

It will deploy around 8 Wednesday evening, according to a news release from the Salvation Army. Another vehicle will be used to transport anyone who needs a place to stay to the Salvation Army's 110-bed shelter.
