LUBBOCK, Texas -

The Woodrow Volunteer Fire Department will now have money for fire engine truck.

Lubbock County Commissioners approved a loan agreement for the department. It's a $100,000 loan to be paid back over a five year period. Pt. 1 Commissioner Bill McCay said it will help the department keep up with the growing number of calls in the Woodrow area.

"It's a growing fire department with more and more rooftops in their area," he said. "They do a great job managing the dollars that they get and serving the community. We're excited to be in a partnership with them."

Along with the loan, the department also receives grants to help fund any new equipment the department may need quickly.
