Some snow possible, but likely not in Lubbock

Some snow possible, but likely not in Lubbock

Posted: Updated:

Expect increasing clouds into the overnight hours with a low temperature of 43°. It may be a little breezy as well. On Thursday, the warmest temperatures may pass in the late morning, then continue to drop into the afternoon thanks to a cold front.

There's a chance for some snow across the area, mainly to the northwest of Lubbock. Expect the chance for snow near Clovis, as well as around Parmer, Castro, and Bailey Counties. By the time this moisture reaches Lubbock, it will likely be rain. We're only expecting about 30% of the area to see rain or snow Thursday.

TONIGHT: Increasing clouds, low of 43°, NNE wind 15-20mph.

THURSDAY: Some showers with mostly cloudy skies. Some snow possible northwest of Lubbock County. High of 51° in the late morning. Windy, NNE winds 20-30mph.

Friday morning will be near freezing, and Friday will continue to be a cold day. As soon as Saturday however, we'll be back into the 70s. Most of next week looks a little cooler than average, but freezing temperatures will be harder to come by.
