Lubbock, state show monthly sales tax revenue increases

LUBBOCK, Texas -

Another sign the Lubbock and Texas economies remain strong is the latest sales tax allocations reported by Comptroller Glenn Hegar's office.

Statwide $773.1 million dollars in local sales tax revenue will be sent to local governments and taxing entities, which is 5.1 percent more than October last year. This distribution is for sales made in August by businesses that report tax monthly.

At the local level Lubbock will receive $6,354,768.59, which is 7.95 percent higher than this time last year. Year-to-date Lubbock has received $62,399,374; this is an increase of 6.23 percent over the January-to-October 2018 period.
