TODAY: Precipitation chances have diminished with a mostly clear sky. Temperatures will warm above the average by around 10 degrees, high near 87. Southwest wind will become breezy increasing 10-22mph.
TONIGHT: Clear and mild with the lows back to the 50s and 60s.
THURSDAY: A strong cold front enters the South Plains early in the day. This will bring a range of high temperatures from the 60s and 70s north, 80s south. Models show a rapid warm up in Lubbock nearing 81 before the front around noon. This will be a dry front but severe storms possible east of our area and into Oklahoma.
FREEZE WATCH: The first possible freeze this season may happen Friday morning. Temperatures across much of the area will be close if not below the 32° mark. Bring those plant and pets inside and grab the winter coat.
EXTENDED: Friday will be the coldest day with the high near 55. Saturday morning will still be cold with temperatures near freezing. High temperatures will rebound quickly with highs back in the 80s Sunday and into next week.
