Warmer next few days

Meteorologist Bobby Johnston said it will be warmer, mostly sunny and breezy. The high is near 88 degrees. Tomorrow night the front will have moved across the Panhandle, bringing winds and a temperature drop. 

Lubbock Grand Jury indicted former O.L. Slaton teaching assistant

The teaching assistant was accused of sending nude photos to a middle school student. Alyssa Bryan has bonded out of jail after being arrested for the charge of indecency with a child exposure. For the full story: click here.

Two of three suspects in custody in shooting death of key witness in Guyger Trial

Joshua Brown testified during the Amber Guyger trial about what he heard the night she killed Botham Jean. Brown was shot and killed in the garage at the same apartment complex. Police report he was part of a drug deal with three men. There was a fight, Brown shot Jacquerious Mitchell and Thaddeous Green killed Brown. Police said Brown's death was not related to the trial. Police are still searching for suspects Michael Mitchell and Thaddaeus Green.

White House defiant in face of impeachment inquiry

In a letter, White House Counsel Pat Cipollone labels the inquiry illegitimate, claiming it "violates fundamental fairness and constitutionally mandated process." It goes on to say the President won't cooperate. The letter came hours after the state department blocked E.U. Ambassador Gordon Sondland from testifying. Democrats said the American people should see the evidence and hear from witnesses. 

Fifth Democratic Presidential debate in Georgia on November 20

The DNC reported eight candidates have already qualified for it including former Vice President Joe Biden, Senators Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren and Kamala Harris and Mayor Pete Buttigieg. Democratic candidates will face off in their fourth debate next week on October 15.

Monarch butterflies are making their way through Lubbock to head south. Meredith Aldis will be at the Lubbock Memorial Arboretum with fun science facts from Kirstin Belcher Sanchez, who raises monarchs.
