LUBBOCK, Texas -

Despite being a 9.5-point underdog, Texas Tech shocked the college football world and defeated #21 Oklahoma State 45-35.

Broderick Washington recovered a fumble by Oklahoma State QB Spencer Sanders on the opening possession, but the Red Raiders were only able to respond with a 38-yard Trey Wolf field goal. The next possession, Jett Duffey's 16-yard rushing TD gave Tech a 10-0 lead.

Three first half turnovers forced by TTU's defense helped lead the Red Raiders to a 20-7 advantage at the break.

David Yost's offense set the tone in the second half. Duffey led Tech right down the field and connected with TJ Vasher for a 21-yard TD just 1:35 into the 3rd. The teams continued to trade scores in the quarter, and the Red Raiders had a 37-21 lead going into the 4th.

A Jett Duffey 56-yard TD to Erik Ezukanma that put the Red Raiders up 45-21 was the nail in the coffin. It's Texas Tech's first home win against a conference team not named Kansas since 11/14/15 when they defeated Kansas State 59-44.

Tech will take on Baylor next Saturday at 3 p.m. in Waco.
