FALL WEATHER: It dropped to 56 early this morning in Lubbock. Well, it was right around 56 to 57 from yesterday evening through this morning. We had some lower 50s farther northwest of Lubbock. Since then, it's cleared out and warmed into the upper 70s to even a few low 80s.
To the west, there's a good amount of rain over New Mexico, showers moving NE. There is a slight chance for a shower or storm late tonight through early morning, low near 62.
SATURDAY: Cloudy in the morning, possibly some fog or drizzle. It'll gradually clear out, becoming mostly sunny in the afternoon, high near 85. Wind SW/W 5-15mph.
For the Texas Tech game kickoff will be in the mid 70s, climbing to near 85 by the end of the game. Bring some sunblock, a lot of sun is expected through the afternoon.
A front will be north of our area, with low 70s expected around Amarillo, upper 70s Plainview, mid 80s Lubbock. Also near that front, a few isolated showers or storms are possible in the SE Panhandle, to the NE of Lubbock.
SUNDAY: That front will edge a little farther south, though it looks like Lubbock will still be mild in the low 80s. By Sunday night there is a slight chance for a shower or storm here.
NEXT WEEK: Behind the front we'll start Monday morning in the mid 40s. Some upper 30s are possible northwest, near Muleshoe and Hereford. Monday afternoon will climb to near 70 with lots of sun.
Another cold front should knock the temperature down again by Friday. Overall next week looks like a typical dry fall week, with sun in the afternoons and cool starts in the morning.
Have a great weekend. Robert will have a full update to the forecast here early tomorrow.
